Why not wiki?

Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I thought the wiki format was the right way to collaboratively generate content.

With PRs you get into a single-person-reviewer bottleneck that nobody is benefitting from.

I had exactly the same question, especially that wikis also backed by git repositories, so people who like CLI can continue working with git and others can use Github's Web UI or even run gollum wiki server [1].
