Is there any way to make multi-measure rests or even just empty bars?

I'm trying to mock up quick and dirty lead/form sheets (using the google docs extension) for some tunes, but I'd really like a way to have some empty bars with numbers in them. But I can't find a way to align the numbers or make the bars wide enough without any notes in them. This would be an incredibly useful feature.
