Crossfade option for sample editor

When you highlight over one of the loop points, a button appears to let you
smoothly fade the selection over the other loop point to get a seamless
loop. I think this feature was included in the original FastTracker II...

I'm sorry I don't quite understand the idea. Could you give a more detailed
explanation or tell me how to use the feature in FT2?

There is a function called x-fade in FT2 sample editor. It mixes wave data
around loop points so that you could
achieve a click-free looping. However I don't know the more precise rules of
the algorithm.
You can for example load a sample, create 'forward' loop, select a small area
around the first loop point and
press 'x-fade', and see how it mixes the wave data around loop points.
