FSTAB and Bad Line - and USB Failure

Closed this issue · 1 comments

Hi there, how are you doing ?

Not an issue - but it is a help.
Today - I pad to reboto the System unplug and so on.
Realized that both Back usb is no longer working and I Think I forgot or Don't remember how it is my fstab roas that handle the USB disks.
Do we have a way to force a boot or how to bypass this ?

thanks.

Good to hear from you!

One the serial console the device is likely prompting for the root password which allows a shell to be run which you could use to fix the fstab. If you are good at soldering you can can access the serial console as described here:

I am not that good at soldering and typically connect the drives to a PC and fix the fstab that way.

It would also be possible to boot either buffalo's boot files or the debian installer via TFTP and recover from within those environments, though I find TFTP to be more of a pain than the above.
