I am by no means an expert when it comes to gradle and especially the publish part could use a second pair of eyes :).

I'm not sure whether this is off-topic or not, I have been using Gradle Kotlin DSL at my work for quite some time and have got some experience with Gradle Kotlin DSL. I may help convert the build.gradle to kotlin if that's ok.
For the publishing part(not the bintray one, have not used that), it looks ok to me.

I started using the kotlin dsl but had some problems (and at the time did not wanna spend any time learning/researching them, I just wanted to start :) ).
I am mainly worried about publishing, as that is something I haven't done before with gradle.
Regarding the kotlin dsl: If it simplifies the build file in any way, I'm open for it, but don't really feel like it's necessary.
