Tapping avatar doesn't open user profile in post/thread view

When I tap on a users's avatar next to a post in my timeline, then that user's profile opens.
But when I tap the same avatar after I opened the post/thread, nothing happens.

Update: this seems to affect only the active post in the thread. The others work as expected.
