The README says it's 16x faster and that it was tested with Python2, so maybe that's the reason Zenekindarl is not that much faster than Jinja anymore.
And it would be cool to see how Spinneret compares to the others aswell. 😃

I've checked and got similar Jinja2 performance on python2.7:
