Merge documents keeping their own styles

I'm appending a report to another report and I would like for the appended document to keep its original style (font, font size, paragraphs style, etc). Now I can only make the final document use the "master" document style.
Additional:
the appended document has its own Table of Contents. Is it possible to update the page numbers? easy workaround: to avoid updating the ToC, how can I identify and remove the ToC from the document?
