[Error] "Kernel Connection Lost" in maple 2024

Describe the bug
When I try to use Maple 2024 to calculate anything I get an Kernel Connection Lost.
To Reproduce
I am on NixOS and I am running an Ubuntu container via Distrobox. In this container I installed maple 2024 with the official installer. It gives this error every time I try to define a function.
Expected behavior
I should be able to use this program as it is intended. It is made for Linux.

NixOS - How did you install distrobox?
I installed distrobox from nix packages
