Sugar model error: "Cannot find a soil crop parameterisation called SugarcaneSoil"

Closed this issue · 5 comments

What happened?

Hi,
When I replace "Macknade 923 1R" for Ferrosol (Babinda N0649", which I downloaded using the download tool within APSIM next gen, I get this error "Cannot find a soil crop parameterisation called SugarcaneSoil".
It is APSIM version 2024.8.7568.0

Thanks

What Operating System are you on?

Windows

Does your soil have moisture-related parameters for Sugarcane under SoilWat?

Hi,
I would say I have the same components I have for this soil in Classic.

Sorry, I meant under Physical.

You'll be missing the sugarcane soil under physical. The soils often come with a bunch of crop soil options, but this one might not have had a sugarcane one. This is what it should look like:

That just defines how the crop interacts with that soil, such as how deep it can grow in it and what water it would have access to. Structure has to match the physical layers. You'll be able to see an example in the original Macknade 923 1R soil that you replaced. It also has to be named exactly "SugercaneSoil" otherwise it won't be found by the other components.

It is importing with the old name of the parameter. Renaming it worked!!!
