[TODO] Phase out Python 2.7 support

At the time of this issue, I have decided that I will not attempt to support Python 2.7 backwards compatibility. Users of Python 2.7 are recommended first and foremost to update to Python 3.x. If that isn't possible, and I mean this as a last ditch effort, I suggest users to use the original project (unmaintained).
Python 2.7 is coming up on its end-of-life and thus I have zero intention of supporting the version.
I won't make the project explicitely incompatible for the sake of doing so, but there are many features in Python 3.x that I would like to leverage that just wouldn't be possible if I have to maintain support for Python 2.
