[BUG] pressing Escape does not cancel knitting

Describe the bug
Pressing Escape does not cancel knitting because the menu is disabled during knitting operation
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Load image.
- Press Ctrl-K to start knitting.
- Press Escape.
- Knitting operation does not cancel.
Expected behavior
Knitting operation should be cancelled.
