Lockscreen service randomly dies

I had this happen today.
I set the service to return STICKY, which means it should start again right after it crashes.
This means something may be very wrong with the service code.
Can't be a memory error because that would clear up once the service dies and restarts,
Only happened once so need more details and cases to try to replicate and fix
