Update validation docs for v4

Description
Validation triggering in layout files will change in v4, update docs to reflect this. Also update changelog.

Updated changelog and docs in app-frontend-v4 branch. Validation docs should probably be rewritten from the ground up as it is kind of a mess at this point.
