Getting an error that causes to app to error when opening, causing me to delete and re-extract in order to use again. When I open the app I get message:

I click yes. Then it resets and I get this:

If I press OK it just goes through these two messages again. If I then say No, and then close the app, when I reopen it I get this

I can delete and re-extract from the zip to use the app again. But if I say No to the update, and go into upgrade settings and uncheck all the settings everything is fine, no more messages. I have tried both run as admin and normal.

Here is my version information

It seams you have opened 2 Anno Designer apps, as the second screenshot tells you.

If you try this again, can you also give us a screenshot of the task-manager > processes tab

If you still get those messages, try to restart PC, and try to open 1 Anno Designer. It takes a bit before your see the application on your desktop, give it some time

Kindly Regards

Here are my processes after restarting, still getting the same error.

I am only opening the executable once.

Oke,

Then i need the following information :

  • What OS (including version, like Home H21.1) you use (i suppose windows 10 or 11, 64bits)
  • The log file "Logfile_AnnoDesigner.txt".

Then we can see what is happening there.
Also i will test the 9.4 and Presets 5.0 to see if i get the same errors

Regards

OS Info:

Log file from the steps leading to the error:
Logfile_AnnoDesigner.txt

Missing the 'bits' version information, but again, i suppose 64 bits system (see that same screen, only a bit higher titled "Type System" (like the Screenshot))

I will look into this tomorrow (Saturday 1 April 2023) as i have more time then (unless someone else take a look into this)

Thanks for all information provided 👍

Regards

Could you please try to run the app in a directory with write access? (any other location then C:\Program Files (x86)\)
Drive C: is restricted by default by Microsoft.

Simply use the Download directory or another drive.

Ok moved the exe to my D:\ drive. When I opened I received the same series of popups. However when I closed and reopened I did not get the error and no longer got popups. I went into Update Settings and checked for updates and it says the version is up to date.

And yes I do have a 64 bit OS.

Thank you both for the quick replies and help!
