Continuous Input for Joysticks

Whenever I push the joystick positions to their max values, the script stops receiving input whenever I have it at 32767 (its max value). It only changes when I move the joystick position. I'm wondering if there's a way to configure the joysticks to continue outputting the max value from the controller until I put it in the rest position.

For more clarification:

I am using Python 3.6.9 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The version of the repo I downloaded is 1.2.3.
