Download status issue with 'proxy error'

Long downloads tend to result in an error in the UI with the message:
Request Failed: error, Proxy Error
in console: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 502 (Proxy Error)
Fix is to allow the JS check to continue to run and not terminate the JS method
