The idea comes from this:

sign up (featured image)

Where the banner at the top is the featured image as opposed to an Image block.

The reason behind this is because

  • we can add a class to the popup so we know how to style it depending on featured image or not
  • we also avoid things like negative margins etc… for the image block
  • and it’s easy to state in the documentation if you want an optional banner, insert a featured image
