ive tried to put in the .themes folder but the only thing that works is the window boarder and controls im using Debian with cinnamon

Can you provide the cinnamon version number and debian release number?

Does it work if you change the theme with the following commands?
gsettings set org.cinnamon.desktop.wm.preferences theme "macOS"
gsettings set org.cinnamon.desktop.interface gtk-theme "macOS"
gsettings set org.cinnamon.theme name "macOS"Make sure the theme folder is named macOS before running the commands
