Add hotkey options for common characters

It would be nice if the user was able to bind a few -like 3 to 5- certain Unicode characters to hotkeys in the plugin settings menu.
Could you elaborate on the specific use-case?
I had the idea of favourite characters which would be bound to hotkeys, but it didn't seem useful for me in the end.
Is the purpose of the hotkey just to be faster than using the searchbar?
Do you see yourself using it as you type for something like punctuation, currency symbols, etc.?
My specific use-case is the zero width non-joiner/ZWNJ character. Some of my notes are in Farsi and ZWNJ is required if you want to write something. The default keyboard layouts for nearly all devices have a hotkey or dedicated button for this character in them. For example, it is Shift+Space for Windows. But in my case, I am using Samsung DeX with a bluetooth keyboard and it doesn't have a dedicated shortcut for ZWNJ. Hence the issue.
I'm pretty sure others would also benefit from this idea of favorite characters. I commonly use arrow, star and heart characters in my notes as well.
