Code is "confused" with mod variants (English Lyrics Mod et al)

The English Lyrics mod has 4 variants from the download page. D4M seems to get confused if you tell it to update any of the variants and it updates every variant to the "main" (first) variant.

Also, D4M also somehow switched my Restore Cut Songs mod to Leaderboard Blocker, which is listed as a variant.

Edit: After restoring my mods with Diva Mod Manager, it seems the D4M code favors the last variant, not the first.

Currently, d4m doesn't have support for the different "variants" of a mod. Sometimes, mod developers don't upload variants there, but rather other things, which is a slight predicament.

I am aware of this, but I don't have time to develop d4m at the moment.
