there really isn't 302.17 on ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/
This PKGBUILD is a copy of the [extra] one:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/nvidia/
Maybe the ftp server is outdated. The package is built as that
https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/nvidia
302.11 does not support all cards from 295.59 (checked in FTP and on the driver search page).
To quote Bumblebee-Project/Bumblebee#172 (comment):
The 302.xx and 295.xx drivers seems to be different. 295.59 is newer than 302.11 and supports the GT 650M where the 302.11 does not work.
It might be worth pointing that out. In particular, the GT 650M does not work in 302.11.
Both links work now. and the "correct" version is 302.17
Maybe was a messy ftp or outdated nvidia server. Now both 302.17 links work
