PimpMyStremio seems to do this pretty well.

Maybe this project can use the same technique / code.

That's a good additional idea but not everyone uses Chocolatey. A dedicated updater will make sure everyone gets the latest update regardless of what system or package manager they're using.

True, Chocolatey doesn't solve the problem on other OSes.
