Theme: video handling is still unpredictable

Need to consider changing video handling methods again. Too often, video fails to play for whatever reason (often very minor encoding differences and server side errors/failures assigning MIMEtypes). Need a slightly wider net of usable formats with a more reliable fallback to Flash.
Amen. This has been a nightmare for us in Spokane, my students create excellent video and sometimes cannot get them to appear. Also, we need to be able to view videos both on the handheld device and on the website. This is the biggest technical problem with Curatescape right now.
We're having trouble uploading video to the site...it will seem to be doing something for a while, but then just stop without anything happening.
