User calibration data writes to SPI but when I connect to my switch nothing changes?

I tried to manually edit my calibration data, and when I write to SPI, the controller's calibration data updates, but my switch does not recognize the new data, and reverts to factory settings. I have tried clearing my paired controllers but that doesn't work either. It successfully reads the color information, but not user calibration. Please help!
