Auto Speed is always on

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Trying to record a song with my Yamaha PSR-E313 electronic keyboard plugged
into my laptop through a working MIDI cable

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I tried with Auto Speed ticked on and off, restarting the software, recording
new files, etc.. but no matter what I try the software will set it's own speed
on what I play.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.8.2 on Windows 7 home premium 64-bit 6.1
Please provide any additional information below.
Everything else works fine, sustain pedal, notes are key sensitive, and I am
able to alter the speed of the file, but unable to record at my own speed.
