`git hawser`

Hi @CamJN!
I found my own gitconfig
had an additional [filter hawser]
entry, and couldn't find information about this anywhere.
However, it seems you know something about it since you described it as a “github for mac conf tweak” in 8d4c713.
Since @github did seemingly not document this, could you share your knowledge about this filter? :) If you use StackOverflow, I opened a question there.
Thanks!
Best,
Matti

Hi Camden,
Thanks a lot for your answer on SO, it gives a much better idea than what I had found.
I don’t think I can mark the question as definitely answered, though, as we now have good hypotheses, but we are still missing elements such as:
- why does GitHub install
hawser
(media
) by default - under which circumstances the Mac app switches to
media
rather than storing data in the repo - what is this
filter
thing and under which circumstances it is activated
Best,
Matti
