I removed it, because it is impossible to know if a new Minecraft Version works with the launcher version you have installed.

Imagine 1.17.40 is available and you have launcher v0.2.5.

  • The launcher would offer the latest 1.17.40
  • You might be able to download it, but it is possible you get an incomplete download and you have to manually delete it!
  • You will see a crash
  • You will post the crash

With my change you can still play 1.17.30, without seeing a crash about 1.17.40.
