Specify document directory on app start possible?

Description

I have a directory with multiple documents that change over time. Is there any way to achieve the same behavior as the "Quick Upload" section in the UI, through configuration or something similar? So that every time the app starts, the documents in my directory are automatically indexed and can be queried on, same way as documents uploaded through Quick Upload?
