Chrome Extension "Freezes"

Using the latest chrome on both Windows 7 and OS X Lion, the chrome extension button will freeze like the icon is being hovered over. It will work a few times, then you click it, and nothing happens. Right click will still show options. Requires closing out of Chrome and reopening to start using again for another 5 minutes. Also happens on a friends computer when he uses DeskSMS as well.
