Exclude containers with pattern

I am running gitlab runners on my server. That is one container that is spawning more containers on demand when a ci pipeline is running. These containers all start with "runner-". On every appdata backup schedule I am getting errors when these pipeline runners are trying to backup. I do not need backups of these so there should be a way to exclude these containers. They are dynamic so I can not exclude them in the settings because I need a feature to exclude by name prefix or regex. They also do not have any volume in appdata so there is nothing to backup. They should not be stopped or restarted.
