Stylesheet for markdown content needs some refinement

The stylesheet which is used when markdown is converted into html is a bit cramped - titles are very close to their text, for example. Would be good just to spend a bit of time massaging the css a little

this is unlikely a markdown issue - it is probably just an issue with our default bootstrap css header margins. can tweak them to taste.
