hierarchy

there is no inherent hierarchy structure for the site. perhaps we need a solution to decide where posts are placed e.g. is there a way to determine whether a post should be at

cottagelabs.com/news/blogpost1
or
cottagelabs.com/blog/blogpost1
or
cottagelabs.com/fiddlesticks/blogpost1
etc

although maybe this isnt an issue if the url structure doesnt matter to us

we just decide and write it as a comment on the creation function. stuff should go under news unless it is a project or a report or whatever else. should be pretty obvious where it goes. just don't throw stuff at the top level (unless it actually is a proper top level item). Could add a warning for when adding to top level I suppose.

Possibly the thing to do is to have a "create page here" option under a pull-down on each navigation item, as a short cut

this is sort of covered - if you choose the create a new page option, it should default to a URL under the current page you are on.

got a good idea for this - going to replace the popup box with a better modal (which I had in mind anyway), and add to it options - so, default to current parent level, but offer "would you like a news item", "would you like a new TOPLEVELX", "would you like a new freeform". that should then cover all bases
