"Activate" button for buttons in edit mode

It can be tedious to leave edit mode to click on, for example, a "back" button to get back to continue editing. A hover option to action the button when editing could be helpful. This "action" button could also test the button to see if the sound is right.
Let me know if this is something I could work on for you as I've got a few hours of free time this week and it'd win points with the wife.
