Install doesnt create new desktop icons

Just to preface: Im not particularly familiar with arch linux or KDE. Ive downloaded the installation file to the steamdeck desktop with "save target as" and when I doubleclicked it I had to select a program to open it with. Instead Ive assigned executable permissions to the file and when Ive started it again a terminal was opened with all the commands in the file being shown. After 5 seconds the terminal just closes but there was neither a success message (as in your youtube video) nor were there new desktop icons.

I hope Im just missing something very obvious.

This is what I get if I try the manual method.. but now I have the desktop icons. I am so very confused as to what I could be doing wrong, I am trying to follow the instructions as closely as possible.

I ran the uninstall because Ive assumed due to the error messages the previous step didnt work and to my surprise the uninstall seemed to work perfectly.

Ive now tried adding the utility to steam and running it through there but sadly it just runs for a few seconds and seemingly doesnt do anything.
