Text segments are duplicated after clicking link

Repro:

1. Go to https://newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/dead-code-getting-untangled-and-coupling.
2. In the browser, click on the plugin's icon, and then click "Toggle Bionify". Text is bionified, as expected.
3. Click on the first link inside the blog post body: "my review of the book".

Expected:
Browser opens the link.

Actual:
Some segments of the article are duplicated. See screenshot.
