Unable to use conference option in the cm7-20111018-NIGHTLY-Defy.zip

Hi I am trying to put two calls into one (conference) option using the merge calls button in the dialer......

It says cant merge calls and I can only swap the calls and sometimes it disconnects one of the two calls.

Please let me know whats the cause

Conference option it's a function related to your network carrier, are you sure you can use this function before?

Ya i was able to use that using my old phone nokia n85. I tried it on android first time. Not Sure whose problem is this....
