Cannot dump "TRON: Evolution" correctly

Opened this issue · 3 comments

When attempting to dump my copy of TRON: Evolution (USA) on my DSi with GM9i, it does not produce consistent dumps, or any that align with the information on DAT-o-MATIC.

The produced dump does boot in DS mode, but doesn't boot in DSi mode in melonDS (white screens) or nds-bootstrap/TWLM++ (generic nds-bootstrap error screen, though it might be possible that it's an AP issue?).

I am fairly certain that the copy is legitimate, as it does function in DSi mode when launched from Slot-1.

I haven't had success with other dumping methods at the moment (as in, haven't been able to dump it in the first place). I have no access to a 3DS, either.

I have no access to a 3DS, either.

I have recently obtained a New 3DS XL, and I was able to dump the game card using GodMode9 and produce a ROM that matches DAT-o-MATIC.
A good ROM is not produced when dumping the ROM using the 3DS with GodMode9i... I don't know, I guess that's worth mentioning.

Comparing CRC32s between files in the dumps, I can confirm that everything in a bad dump matches the good dump, except for the ARM7i and ARM9i binaries.

The ARM7/9i binaries from the bad dump appear to be garbage data (or encrypted, no idea) but have the same length as the good dump's binaries.

Still occurs as of 088fd0d
