Description

To scaffold a project means to set up a folder and file structure with the minimum needed to run something. We're not trying to build a mini-version of our final program at this point; instead we aim to get some of the boring-but-necessary stuff out of the way so we can start building.

Goals

  • New Django project
  • New Django app within this project
  • Database connectivity
  • Routing
  • Django Admin
  • A "Hello World" view

Expected Outcome

  • Python 3.10 venv
  • Django project and app folders
  • migrations/ folder
  • management/commands/ folder
  • urls.py
  • settings.py
  • .env - not for source control
  • requirements.txt
