This is caused by a bug in Blender, though the exact minimal reproduction steps are not known.
Investigating the drivers in the geometry node show that the drivers are not being evaluated.
Hitting Update Dependencies
does nothing, but simply editing the Path
and hitting Enter will fix the driver evaluation. This lines up with other reports I've seen of people experiencing something similar, where the drivers do not seem to get evaluated properly unless "nudged" like this.
