Misunderstanding abbreviations

Hello,
I have a small issue. There is an abbreviation BFS in some explanations of "Original meaning". For example, about the character "却" it is written: "Meaning (orig) to retreat 去 (after kneeling卩) BFS meaning 'but'."
Also in "Character decomposition" sometimes there is a word "rem" after which there is - or + and a radical. For example, about the character "配" it is written "from container-jug 酉 yǒu and (rem- 己 jǐ) from" and about "印" it is written "Compound 印 from (rem+ * left-hand)"
Could you explain what "BFS" and "rem" mean?
