Crashes & Slider Issues

Opened this issue · 3 comments

An open source photo editing with decent capabilities is wonderful! Understandably, since it is the first release, there are a few issues.

  • Crashes
This seems to only happen when you press "sharpen" in the tools option. Everything else works fine without crashing the app.

  • Slider Issues
The slider is extremely off from my touch input, and often when trying to move only a little bit, the full 100% is moved. Moving back is difficult, since it will keep resisting to return back to 100%. Eventually, I can get it to the applied percentage I want.

  • Slow App Responses
Honestly, every option in the app is slow to respond, though it seems like you're aware of that.

I'm hoping these can be resolved/optimized further in the next release. Sometimes I don't want to pull up my computer to edit a photo, but most photo editing mobile apps are closed source. Having an open source option like this is great.

Hi, thank you for the positive feedback! We haven't worked on the project since that first released, but I will at least check this one. Crashes? Not in my book.

  • May I know your phone model and Android version? It's curious you're experiencing crashes specifically with the "sharpen" tool; with the exception of the kernel values, it's the same as Sobel, or any 3x3 convolution filter.

  • We know about this one, we experienced this bug in the emulator while using an older version of Android. Can you confirm that it only happens when seek bars have negative minimum values (i.e. the bar goes from -100% to 100% or -180deg to 180deg)? If not, it might be a different bug entirely.

  • More or less yeah. We are aware this app isn't the best to used on less powerful phones. I'm guessing you already tried to reduce "Resolution of preview miniature" and "Resolution of loaded pictures" in the Settings?

I'm using a Huawei Mate 9.
And I hadn't noticed the lowering resolution in the settings, though it did help significantly, so thank you! There does seem to be a quirk with rendering the text interface for selecting resolution options though, seen in my attached screenshot. Lowering the resolution did make it so using "sharpen" no longer made the app crash.

App crashes a lot.
Sometimes straight after using a tool sometimes after selecting mutiple filters
