merge/ rearrange first two paragraphs of leaf traits section

@NidhiVinod , I feel like the first 2 paragraphs of the leaf traits section have substantial overlap and should be rearranged into 1-2 new paragraphs. I don't want to tackle that now, though, as I don't feel that I understand some aspects enough.

For example, you talk about ontogeny in both paragraphs, and it would make sense to combine that content, but I'm not familiar with that literature.
