Pidgin loses messages

I noticed that Pidgin seems to lose Discord messages every now and then.
This happened to me twice:
A person posted several images in one of my Discord server channels.
Pidgin popped up a window for that channel
The first message (image) was missing, but the rest were shown.
For the 2nd occurrence, I also had the native Discord client open at the time (which I now do to make sure I am not losing messages), don't remember if that was the case for the first occurrence as well.
The program also sometimes does not deliver sent messages, and there is no indication that the message was not delivered. It is very annoying when that happens.
Unfortunately, it happens rarely, so it is difficult to investigate.
