Adding a lock around adding and removing comments from the list seems to make the error not happen anymore, but I'm not sure if it actually fixes the problem

The problem still exists, I believe. I feel like it has been reduced a lot, but I've seen at least an instance

Abandoned Tkinter so this is no longer an issue
