Show placeholder when camera is not available?

Currently, the camera view will crash the app if run on a simulator, where no camera is available. This makes it quite inconvenient to test out other features of whatever app I am building on the simulator. Can you make it so that it puts in a placeholder image (like the one shown in the storyboard) when no camera is available?
