Bug: reconnect_interval not working

Closed this issue · 5 comments

Hi, the default reconnect_interval of 10 seconds does not seem to work in repmgr version 5.2.0-2.pgdg20.04+1 on Ubuntu 20.04 from the official postgresql.org apt repo. Instead the reconnect_interval is only 1 second. Also overriding the value in the repmgr.conf has no effect (yes I made sure I restarted the repmgrd service after editing the file):

reconnect_interval=10

Log output:

[2021-04-01 15:57:35] [INFO] sleeping up to 1 seconds until next reconnection attempt

Thank you very much in advance :-)

This issue was fixed in repmgr 5.2.1.

Oh I see thank you for the quick reply. Now I am just wondering why the package is not yet in the PostgreSQL.org apt repos yet. But maybe it is wise to migrate to the 2nd quadrant apt repos for repmgr

The 2ndQuadrant (EDB) repos are guaranteed to have the latest release at the time it appears. We've created a ticket for the community apt repo, possibly that was missed out during the last release.

I can confirm that 5.2.1 fixes the problem and is available on the 2ndQuadrant (EDB) repos. Thank you very much, feel free to close this issue now (or keep it open until the postgresql.org also have the update available. I checked today and it was not available there yet).

Thanks for the feedback. Ticket for the community repository exists, so no need to keep this one open.
