Doc: Publish Services - specify to check 'Reference registered data' when publishing in Pro

Closed this issue · 1 comments

In the doc page 'Publish Map Services', in Step 8 of Publish .mapx files using ArcGIS Pro, be sure to also say:

  • Select Reference registered data (this is critical for the dictionary renderer to work)
  • Check Feature as the layer type.
  • Fill out the fields for Item Description (ideally we already have this in the layer as part of the .mapx)

Also, the instructions say to name the layer AirC2\Military_Air_Tracks, but the service is referred to as AirC2_MilitaryAirTracks in the screenshot of step 9. Suggest modifying step 8 to use 'AirC2\AirC2_MilitaryAirTracks' as the name for the Web Layer.

Changed Step 8 to read as follows:

Share the Layer as a Web Layer with the following properties:

Name: AirC2\AirC2_MilitaryAirTracks (prefixing
the service name with AirC2 ensures the service is published under the
AirC2 folder on your server).

Data: Reference registerd data.

Layer Type: Feature.

Summary: Military Features that support air units and equipment.

Tags: Military, MIL-STD-2525D, AirC2, Tracks, Air Operations.
