STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: Marine Corps has a need to establish a control point symbol for tactics doctrine. The DOD Dictionary defines a control point as “1. A position along a route of march at which men are stationed to give information and instructions for the regulation of supply or traffic. 2. A position marked by coordinates (latitude, longitude), a buoy, boat, aircraft, electronic device, conspicuous terrain feature, or other identifiable object which is given a name or number and used as an aid to navigation or control of ships, boats, or aircraft. 3. In marking mosaics, a point located by ground survey with which a corresponding point on a photograph is matched as a check. (JP 3-09.3)” Control points are graphically depicted in MCWP 3-01, Offensive and Defensive Tactics, and have broad application across operations.

PROPOSED SOLUTION: Propose the addition of CP as an H1 amplifier for a Control Point graphic in the Command and Control Points Table of MIL-STD-2525D.
