Improving word recognition

Have just purchased the ANE - it works well, however it struggles with a few words that I need to use to trigger events. Is there any way to improve the accuracy of the recognition? Also, I have downloaded the language recognition pack onto my device for offline use, but the ANE does not seem to work.. any suggestions? Thanks Adam
